Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use I'm Undeclared at imundeclared.com. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. “We,” “us,” and “our” mean Fencing Forward, which operates I'm Undeclared.

The service

I'm Undeclaredhelps you compare colleges, track costs and applications, set deadline reminders, and share a read-only plan with a parent or counselor. If you turn on recruiting, you can also keep an athlete card for one sport (not a men's list and a women's list) and share that with a school coach. It is a planning tool. It is not a recruiting CRM. It does not apply to colleges for you, contact coaches for you, award aid, or guarantee any admission, athletic, or financial result.

Fencing Forward launched I'm Undeclared along with the Meredith Delgado Endowment and runs both. They are separate: using I'm Undeclared is not an application to the endowment and does not affect an endowment or scholarship decision. The endowment is awarded under its own rules, not through your account here.

Your account

• You must provide an email you control and keep your password to yourself. If you forget it, use Forgot password — we email a one-hour link to the address on the account.
• You are responsible for activity on your account.
• The site is meant for students applying to college and the adults helping them. It is not for children under 13. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should know you have an account.
• Use it for personal college planning, not for scraping, reselling data, or running a competing service on top of it.

What you enter

You are responsible for the information you store — including home address, money figures, notes, photos you upload, video links, social profile links, coach contacts, and any application portal URLs, usernames, or passwords you choose to save. Upload only photos you have the right to use. Portal logins are optional. If you store them, you do so at your own risk so you can find them later. We do not use them to log into colleges on your behalf.

AI

Some parts of the site are written or filled by AI (OpenAI, Anthropic / Claude, and Google / Gemini). That includes school facts we could not get from College Scorecard, school suggestions, the Help write draft on a recruiting card, and the summary on a shared plan. Those outputs are machine-generated. They can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. They are not official college, NCAA, or financial-aid advice, and they are not a counselor. You still decide what to keep, edit, or ignore. Evaluate AI output for accuracy and appropriateness — including human review where it matters — before you use it or share it.

School facts may also come from College Scorecard or other public sources. We do not scrape USA Fencing or FencingTracker, and we do not invent NCAA recruiting-calendar dates or an Academic Index. Check official college, athletics, and aid sites before you rely on a date, cost, requirement, or suggestion.

Sharing

You can create a read-only link for a parent or counselor, and a recruiting-card link for a school coach. When you create it, you choose how long it stays valid — a set period such as 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, or 1 year, or a date you pick. You can revoke a link at any time, which stops it immediately even if that date has not arrived.

A parent or counselor needs the URL and the access code. A recruiting-card link starts private with an access code; it opens from the URL alone only if you switch it to Public. Either stays valid until it expires or you revoke it. The recipient does not need an account. A parent or counselor sees the read-only plan you chose (including cost and aid unless you hid those from a counselor). If you email the link, you can attach a College Search spreadsheet, a Costs spreadsheet, both, or neither — those files can be saved and forwarded, so treat them like the plan itself. A school coach sees the recruiting card (name, photos and any short slideshow descriptions, major, GPA, sport notes, school and club contacts you added, social links, and video links), not the college plan or family money. They cannot edit your list. Application portal URLs, usernames, and passwords are never included.

Treat a plan link and access code like a private pair. Opening the link still asks for the code, including if you are signed in. Sending the invite again replaces the link and the code. A public recruiting card is meant to be forwarded; a coded one still needs the access code. Do not send a plan link to people you do not want reading your list. If someone forwards it, that is outside our control.

We record when a recipient first opened a link so you can see it on Share or Recruiting. For a parent or counselor, that is when they enter the access code. For a school coach, that is when the card loads from a different network than the one you used to create or send the link. A coded recruiting card still needs that code before it loads. Entering the access code on a plan counts as opened, including if you test the link yourself. Loading a coach card while signed in as the student does not count. Email “opened” or “clicked” is not tracked.

Donations

I'm Undeclared is free. There is no subscription and no paid unlock. You may make an optional donation. Gifts help fund Fencing Forward’s Meredith Delgado Endowment. A portion also covers hosting and AI lookups so the workbook can stay free. A donation is a gift, not a purchase. It does not change your account, add features, or buy support. It is not tax-deductible.

Payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe’s terms and privacy policy apply to that payment. We never see your card number. Refunds, if any, are at our discretion.

Email

When you create an account we email a welcome note to that address from [email protected]. You do not need to confirm the email to use the site. If you delete the account we email a cancellation note to the same address. Reminders and password-reset links also come from no-reply@. Share invites come from [email protected] and include the plan or recruiting-card link and when it expires. You can turn reminders off in My Info.

Acceptable use

• Do not try to break into the site, other accounts, or the server.
• Do not use the service to send spam or harass anyone.
• Do not upload photos or other content you do not have the right to use.
• Do not upload unlawful content.

We may suspend or delete an account that abuses the service or puts others at risk.

Availability

We may change, pause, or stop the service. We are not liable for downtime, lost notes, or a missed deadline. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it is error-free or that college, cost, deadline, or recruiting information is complete. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Fencing Forward is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for admission, athletic, financial, or academic outcomes. Our total liability for claims related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the prior twelve months. A donation is a gift, not payment for the service, so that amount is zero.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
